Anxiety is a common reaction to loss. Losing someone we love changes everything about our lives and how we feel in the world. For years I've been helping people understand and heal from grief-related anxiety. Whether your loss was recent or you've been grieving your person for many years, this group will provide the support and practical tools to help you cope with and even overcome your anxiety.
Grief & Anxiety: Coping After Loss begins Monday, August 23rd at 10am PT/1pm ET and will continue to meet on Mondays via Zoom for six weeks. (Please note there will be no gathering on Labor Day, Sept. 6th)
While not required, you may find it helpful to have a copy of my book Anxiety: The Missing Stage of Grief
During each Zoom gathering, Claire will:
Registration includes:
"The world of grief -- rote with repeated thoughts over what happened, what might have been, and what might be -- provides the perfect breeding ground for anxiety. In pinpointing the connections between the two, Claire Bidwell Smith is the warm and wise friend guiding you toward deeper control over your thoughts, instead of your thoughts wielding control over you."
-- Rebecca Soffer, coauthor of Modern Loss: Candid Conversations about Grief. Beginners Welcome.
"I cannot imagine a better grief therapist than Claire Bidwell Smith. She has the ability to wrap her deep psychology background and understanding of frameworks for dealing with grief in an intimate and soft discussion that makes the client feel incredibly well supported. Perhaps as a result of her own losses, she becomes a partner in going through the process of grief with the person experiencing deep loss, and not just a medical professional. As a result, she has significantly advanced my ability to brave the storms of grief and even to see some of the beauty that it yields as well. I am forever indebted." -- Jaime, Los Angeles
